Racha Island, Phuket, Thailand

I finally managed to post the pictures taken at online. Racha Island is located very south of Thailand, about 35 minute by speed boat from Phuket main island. The island is known for its excellent corals and marine life, so the best location for snorkling and scuba diving. The Racha Resort features 70 luxurious private villas, surrounded by turquoise blue water and white powder sandy beaches, an ideal location for a romantic getaway. We were just so thrilled to have discovered it and stayed there.

Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for dropping by. Staying at the Racha was probably the highlight of our trip.
Food at the Racha is a bit pricy. I'd say it's on par with the western standard. There are three restaurants (you probably already knew): Earth Cafe, Sunset Beach, and Fire Grill. Fire Grill and Sunset Beach are fine dining, so they're pricier. Earth Cafe is relatively cheaper. We tried all three and loved them all. The best of all is they all have ocean view. Dining by the ocean and watching sunset is an incredible experience. So it's definitely worth the price dining at the Racha.

Any other tips? Humm...there's really nothing else to worry about. You'll be in good hands. There's a whole team of staff working around the clock to serve you. Oh wait a minute, how are you going to get there? Have you arranged transportation yet? Or the Racha is taking care of it? If you want to save some money, arrange your own transportation to Chalong Bay. The Racha has an office there. I even have their number and the manager's name if you need. You'll be greeted there first, and they will arrange speed boat to take you to the island. for a price, of course. The price is listed on their website.

Well, let me know if you have more questions. I'll be updating my blog more often. Currently working on a piece for the Racha. I'll post it once it's done.

By the way, checked out your blog as well, very nice. Love cooking too, will have to try one of your simple receipes. :)

Hi Jas, thanks for the prompt reply!

Just want to find out a bit more stuff in detail. It is just for budgetting etc. How ehn you say western standard pricing, can you give me a rough ball park figure? We will def eat there, but my partner is a BIG eater...growing boy... so portions might come in handy too.

Yea we booked all the transport via racha resort. Just saves us the hassle. No point stressing about these sort of small expenditure, and wrecking the holiday.

Thanks for visiting my blog...i def will be visiting yours more too....i really like it!

Hi Vanessa,
A dinner meal for two at the Racha ranges from $50 to $100 Canadian dollar including drinks. It really depends on what type of food you guys like. If you order Thai foods, they're a bit cheaper than steaks of course. In terms of portion, we found they're plenty. My husband is a big eater too. He was very happy with the quality and the portion of the food there.
A lot of guests just have a big brunch because the breakfast goes until 11am. so you really don't have any room for much lunch by noon.

Hope it helps.

Hi Jas,

I'm really excited to find your blog coz I've just booked my honeymoon trip to The Racha next Jan. I've been so keen to stay at this resort since it first launched its website in 2004...been ogling it's photo gallery eversince.

It's good to know that for once the website's pictures look like candid photos taken by a real traveller, like yourself!

btw, I've booked myself a superior seaview villa, but I'm sort of worried coz on tripadvisor, someone mentioned they are at the far back of the compound. If that is true, I'm in for a disappointment! Seems like the deluxe villas boast much better views, but also come with much bigger price tags too. :(

From the picture itself, Racha Island seems to be a superb place. With 70 luxurious villas around, I am sure this island can give all that it takes to enjoy unforgettable holidays. Even the beach seems pretty cool, which means that the sun would be on rendez-vous when you mostly need a sunbath.....
